APPLICATION PROCESS

STEP 1: PREPARATION
  • Clean your surface with a denatured alcohol to remove any oils from surface.

  • Ensure there is no residue left on the surface prior to application.

  • Dry thoroughly to remove any dust and contaminants.

  • Assemble your rollers by attaching the rollers to the corresponding roller frames.

  • PRO TIP: Wrap your rollers with blue painters tape to remove lint and dust from your rollers. (Remove the tape prior to application)

STEP 2: MIX SOLUTION
  • Beginning with Part B, use your spatula to begin stirring the solution.

  • There will be a powder substance at the bottom.

  • VERY IMPORTANT: Stir until all of the powder is completely dissolved into liquid.

  • Pour the entire mixed Part B solution into your Part A container.

  • Use your spatula to stir Part B and Part A together until it is a fully dissolved uniform liquid

  • VERY IMPORTANT: When you are finished mixing, there should be NO RESIDUE left on spatula.

STEP 3: APPLY FIRST LAYER OF FORMULA 131
  • You will begin with your polyamide roller (this roller has a soft and silky texture
and short nap height to keep the right volume going onto the surface).

  • Pour an appropriate amount of your mixed solution directly onto the surface.
(Optional: You may also use the paint trays that are included in your kit)

  • Evenly saturate your polyamide roller with the solution.

  • Begin spreading the solution starting with the outer perimeters working towards the center of your surface.

  • For smaller sections, countertop edges, and sink cut-outs, use your smaller handheld rollers.

  • Air bubble should begin to emerge once your surface is fully coated.

  • Next, you will use your DRY high-density foam roller (this roller has a thick foam texture)

  • Back roll at an angle to smooth any bubbles on the surface.

  • VERY IMPORTANT: Occasionally dry off your roller with a clean towel to remove any excess solution.

  • Ensure all of your surface is covered, including the edges and areas around sink cut outs.

STEP 4: SECOND APPLICATION
  • Repeat Step 3, applying a second coat immediately (wet on wet) to ensure full coverage.

  • Once all surfaces are coated and smoothed twice, DO NOT TOUCH for a minimum of 1 hour.

STEP 5: WAIT 24 HOURS BEFORE BUFFING OR WETTING SURFACE
  • Attach your 600 Grit sandpaper to your velcro sandpaper holder.

  • You may buff to your desired smoothness after 24 hours.

  • VERY IMPORTANT: Very lightly buff in a circular motion. DO NOT APPLY PRESSURE.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS
  • The ideal temperature range for application includes ambient and surface temperatures between 60°-85áµ’F (do not apply if temperatures will fall below 50°F within 8 hours of application or adhesion compromise is likely); ideal humidity range is between 40 to 70% RH-high humidity slows dry time; high temps (90°F environment = higher exterior surface temps) may require an accelerated rate of application and application in direct sunlight at those temperatures should be avoided.

  • Under normal temperature and humidity conditions, Formula 131 dries to the touch in 1 hour. In open air, a minimum 24-hour wait is recommended before exposure to stain agents/rain, etc. High humidity and/or cool temperatures will slow the time to full cure, which could extend out to a couple of days depending how extreme.
